Shaanxi Historical Museum
Shaanxi Province is the birthplace of the ancient Chinese civilization. Xi’an was the capital city in thirteen dynasties (the Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang Dynasties), which in total lasted over 1100 years. The collection includes bronze ware from the Western Zhou Dynasty, 3,000 years ago, terracotta figures, gold and silver ware and murals discovered in Tang tombs.
The Shaanxi History Museum is situated in the southern suburb of Xi’an City, northwest of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It houses 370,000 exhibits of different times and kinds, from the simple stone tools used by ancient human to a variety of artifacts in modern times.
The museum is architecturally in the Tang style, with a "hall in center, storied buildings in corners". It is elegant and dignified, on a large scale, with a combination of traditional architecture and modern technology.
