Taiqing Palace is located in south Shandong, surrounded by seven peaks of Baozhu Mountain. The main shrine is made up of Sanguan Hall, Sanqing Hall and Sanhuang Hall, with 150 houses such as Guanyue ancestral hall, Dongxi living room, and Kun Monastery. Every hall has one front gate, and has paved path to communicate with each other. The houses are of quaint taste of Song Dynasty.Among the buildings of Taoism in Laoshan, Taiqing Palace has the longest history, the most profound influence, and the largest scale. During Ming Dynasty, Zhang Sanfeng, the famous Taoist, once did Tao practice here. In addition, Laoshan is also related with an ancient Chinese novel, Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio. It is said that the writer Pu Songling even lived here.There are gingko, lagerstroemia indica, peony, honeysuckle, and other plants in Taiqing Palace, and the white camellia and red honeysuckle besides Sanguan Hall are especially famous.
