Monastery of Ten Thousand Years
The Monastery of Ten Thousand Years is among the farthest ancient temples of Mount Emei. During the Jin dynasty(391AD-401AD), this monastery was built and named Puxian Temple. In the Ming Dynasty, to celebrate the 70th birth of his mother, the Wanli Emperor inscribe the golden plague of "Monastery of Ten Thousand Years' holy and longevity", since then, the name if this monastery has also changed. There are three treasures in this monastery: the no-bridge brick-made temple, the bronze statue of Samantabhadra and the teeth of Sakyamuni. It was said that in the year AD 980, Song dynasty, the officers of Sichuan repeatedly submited the writtenstatement to the emperor that the holy image Samantabhadra had appeared in Mount Emei, the emperor, who was a Buddhist, ordered the officers of the ministry of labour to build the statue. As for the teeth presented by the monks of Sri Lanka in Ming dynasty, even it's not the teeth of Sakyamuni, it still could be dated back to 200,000 years ago, at that time, it belonged to a huge ruler of the land, a stegodon.
