The Shanghai urban planning exhibition center is located in downtown Shanghai, east side of the municipal government buildingnear the people’s square. It was officially open to the public on February 25th 2000 and was renowned as a “Window of the City” where people can know about Shanghai.   The center displays the urban planning including models of planned and recent developments, as well as Shanghai's history and a theater room of 360° screen showing the past and the future of Shanghai. The second floor of the center offers exhibitions to the public regularly. To cater for the need of foreign visitors, 8 languages for the audio guide including Chinese, English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Russian, Korean and German are offered.
