The Zhang Fei Temple is located in Feng Mountain, Yunyang County, which is 382km from Chongqing. It was constructed to honor General Zhang Fei, a Chinese military leader from the Three Kingdoms Period. The temple includes an enormous hall in which a large statue of Zhang Fei can be found, a tower called Jieyi Tower, and pavilions to honor the poet Du Fu, who is a great poet in Chinese history and lived in the temple for two years.
However after 2006, when the Three Gorges construction was operated and caused the water rise a lot the original temple has been lost to the Yangtze river. On the new site, many of the monuments have been saved, including the large statue of Zhang Fei and the ornate front gates.
