Du Fu was a prominent Chinese poet of the Tang dynasty. He is frequently called the greatest of the Chinese poets. Of his poetic writing, nearly fifteen hundred poems have been preserved over the ages.He has been called the "Poet-Historian" and the "Poet-Sage" by Chinese critics. When Du Fu tried to avoid the ''An Lushan Rebellion'', he and his family moved to Chengdu, marvelling at the scenery there, he built his own cottage near the flower stream. With limited pockets he wrote poems to exchange the seeds of flowers and other plants. In Chengdu, Du fu lived four Years with a production of more than 240 poems exited. Of which several poems are still on the pages of every Chinese child's textbook. Therefore, the Du Fu Cottage is regarded as the Mecca of Chinese literature. The Chinese word of "cottage" written at the entrance is from the 17th prince of Qing dynasty. What;s more, in the year 2011, a large amount of cultural relics were unearthed which significantly enriched the cultural connotation of Du Fu cottage.
