The Sanxingdui Museum is a modernized historical museum located at the northeast corner of the national key cultural relics protection unit, Sanxingdui historical site. It is known as the greatest discovery of the human being in 20th century which indicates that, besides the Yellow River basin, the Yangtze River basin is also the cradle of Chinese culture. This ancient site is also praised as the origin of the civilization of the Yangtze River. There are two exhibition halls in the museum, one for comprehensive exhibition and one for bronze, covers a exhibition area of near 12,000 square metres.
