In ancient times, water flew from Shang Tian Zhu through Ling Yin to the West Lake. Because the sand in it was glowing like gold, it was called the Golden Creek. Later the area was developed and during the reign of emperor Guangxu of the Qing dynasty, a villa was built which had a very attractive atmosphere. It was destroyed in the republican period.
In 1993 building of the Hangzhou Jinxi hotel was begun at the site of the former villa and was completed in 1997. It occupies a space of over 20,000 square metres. The hotel reflects the essence of classical architecture and not only maintains the elegant features of the South China style, but also incorporates more modern flavours, so the guest can even better experience the beauty of the West Lake scenery.
The Hangzhou Jinxi hotel has recently undergone renovations and has welcomed the restauration of the Yang Gong Causeway. Located on the Causeway, the Hangzhou Jnxi hotel is the only high standard hotel which is completely surrounded by water. The gardens and scenery are mutually attractive and reflect the tranquility of the South China home.
Opened in 1998, this hotel has a total construction of 20,000 square meters and features classical water township scenery.
