Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (IATA: CAN, ICAO: ZGGG) is the main airport of Guangzhou.

The airport is about 28 kilometers (17.4 miles) to downtown Guangzhou. Opened to the public in 2004, it occupies an area of 15 square kilometers (5.8 square miles). It has a 4E standard flight area, two runways and a terminal of 320 thousands square meters (79 acres). There are more than 110 air routes from Guangzhou to over 100 domestic and international cities. Besides many domestic flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Kunming, Chongqing, Haikou, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Guiyang, Ningbo and Lianyungang, etc., the airport also has direct international flights  to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Osaka, Seoul, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Tokyo, Jakarta, Taipei, Hong Kong, Sydney, Amsterdam, Frankfort and Paris, etc.

In 2010,Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was China's 2nd busiest and world's 19th busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic, with 40,975,673 people handled. As for cargo traffic, the airport was the 3rd busiest in China and the 21st busiest worldwide. Guangzhou airport is also the 3rd busiest airport in terms of traffic movements in China.
