Cuba to Promote Canton Fair

Havana, Aug 20 (Prensa Latina) A meeting about the 112th session of the Canton Fair will be held today in this capital, to foster the participation in that major Chinese exhibition, starting October 15 though November 4.

The event is organized at a capital hotel by the Commercial Office of the People's Republic of China, the Foreign Trade Center of that country and Cuba's Chamber of Commerce (CCC), according to a release issued by the latter entity.

The event predicts speeches by CCC general secretary Omar Fernandez, Chinese ambassador to Cuba Zhang Tuo, and vice president of the Foreign Trade Center of China, Xu Bin.

The latter will make an exhibition on China Import and Export Fair, also called Canton Fair, started in 1957, which is held in spring and autumn each year.

The meeting also includes the signing of a cooperation agreement between the CCC and the Foreign Trade Center of China.
