Our trip to China was a dream come true. It was all we expected and more - on the whole, ChinaTravelDept did a great job.

Our guide in Beijing (Toby) was excellent and our most knowledgeable guide. Inasmuch as we were a day late in joining the group, he went out of his way to make sure we were able to see Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The 3 days we spent with him and the tour group were wonderful. The Great Wall was the highlight of the trip.

Xi'an was also very nice. Chongqing/Yangtze River cruise was interesting and relaxing, but we are glad we didn't schedule a week long cruise as we had earlier intended to do before this trip. Going through the locks was very impressive and the tour to the dam. The Yangtze was interesting, but not a highlight of the tour.

Shanghai was very impressive. We took the optional evening boat cruise on the Huangpu River - it was nice. We didn't see the Jade Buddha Temple at all and we had 15 minutes to walk through the French Concession district, which wasn't enough time. Our guide, Mico, was also very good.

On the whole and for the money we paid for the land cruise, it was wonderful. There needs to be better communication and more time for shopping. We were rushed too much at the market places and missed some of the locations we were supposed to go due to too much time spent else where.
