Changbai Mountain, literally meaning Ever-White Mountain, sits on the border between Jilin, China and North Korea. As the largest nature reserve in China, Changbai Mountain exemplifies its unspoiled natural beauty through conical volcanoes, crystal-clear lake, and well-preserved forests. Due to its relatively high altitude and latitude, Changbai Mountain has been long considered as a perfect summer destination with a average temperature of no more than 22 ℃. Atop the Changbai Mountain is the most famous attraction of it, Tianchi, or Heavenly Lake. Tianchi was formed centuries ago by volcano eruption and over years water filled the vent. The oval-shaped Tianchi is surrounded by 16 mountains with an average height of more than 2500. Seeing from above, Tianchi is like a jade among the forests with its stunning tranquil beauty. The weather at Tianchi is quit changeable and it may rains heavily on one side of the lake yet is sunny on the other side, which adds a mysterious beauty to it.
