Your private English-speaking guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel around 8:30am.
The first stop is Wudadao Sightseeing Street, colonial style buildings and garden villas are the main attractions. Built during the 1920s and 30s, the architectural influence of a number of different countries is on display as you explore some of these stunning residences and learn about their histories.
Then you will visit the most eye-catching structure in Tianjin: the Porcelain House, which is exactly a building decorated in millions of tiny pieces of Chinese ceramics. The owner spent over 20 years collecting the materials and another five adding them to the exterior of his French-style villa, inside of which is a private museum.
You will have a traditional Chinese lunch at local restaurant. You will taste the most famous Tianjin food “Goubuli steamed stuffed bun”.
In the afternoon, your tour guide will take you to Jing Yuan. It was built in 1921 and first named “Qian Yuan”. From 1929 to 1931, the last Empire Pu Yi lived here and changed the name to “Jing Yuan”, which means that peace could raise people’s magnanimity.
Then, you will walk on the Nanshi Food Street to buy some snacks. The most famous Tianjin snacks are Fried Cake, in Chinese called Zhá Gāo, and Fried Dough Twist, in Chinese called Má Huā.
End the tour and transfer you to the hotel around 5pm.
