Lhasa Overview
Lhasa is the capital city of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Lhasa is one of the highest cities in the world at an altitude of 3490 metres. It’s the second most populous city of the Tibetan Plateau. Lhasa is divided into two parts-old town and new town. Barkhor street is the center of the old town, and Lhasa has many sites of historic interest, such as the Potala Palace, Jokhang temple and Norbulingka palaces.
