Q3: What should I pay attention to when I reserve a hotel?
A: Whether you book alone or as a group, we will only deal with the lead booking name in all subsequent correspondence, including changes, amendments and cancellations. You must be over 18 years old and possess the legal capability and authority to book as the lead name and travel on holidays with us. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the personal details or any other information supplied in respect of yourself and any other persons traveling on the booking and for passing on any information regarding the booking or any changes made in relation hereto, to all persons traveling on such booking, including but not limited to information on schedule changes or copies of booking confirmation.
It is a condition of your booking with us that you and all other members of your party, including infants and children, are adequately insured on holiday.
Any person who is under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult on his or her journey.
We strongly recommend you place your booking as early as possible for your own benefit when we have enough time to deal with the payment, change and cancellation.
Reservation should be made at least 24 hours prior to your hotel check-in date in China. We will instantly confirm your reservation online and send confirmation letter to your e-mail address instantly.
If any detail on the confirmation letter is not correct or complete tell us immediately. If there is an obvious error on the confirmation letter we reserve the right to correct it as soon as we become aware of it.
Reservation within 24 hours prior to your hotel check-in date in China should be made only by e-mail or phone call and the reservation may be accepted or confirmed by e-mail with tour quote based on availability.

Q4: How to book hotels with China Travel Depot?
A: Step 1: search and select hotels that meet your demands. You can search the hotels by destination, hotel name, hotel standard as shown in the web page. You are always welcome to write your specific queries to our professional travel consultants if the listed China Hotels do not suit you well.
Step 2: read carefully the detailed description about the selected hotel including location, general information, equipment and facilities, bars and restaurants, banks and ATM etc. Those information will help you to and decide what we have offered is what you actually need.
Step 3: reserve the selected China Hotels by filling out your personal information such as names as shown in the passport, check-in and check-out dates, room numbers and guest numbers, phone number, credit card information etc. Please note that you must sign up to become Member of China Travel Depot before making any reservation order. We strongly recommend that you should reserve China Hotel at least 10 days prior to your check-in date to make sure your reservation is handled properly. Any reservation within 24 hours prior to your hotel check-in date for China may not be confirmed depending on availability of hotel rooms in China.
Step 4: Review your reservation order with information of what you have reserved, total amount for the hotel cost, payment information, terms and conditions etc.
Step 5: Submit your completed reservation order to China Travel Depot under the situation that you are fully aware of the terms and conditions.
Step 6: Receive real-time confirmation and Pay Now/Pay Later to settle the full payment.
Step 7: Receive payment receipt letter from us. Now it is time to pack up for a wonderful holiday in China!
Q5: How can we pay for Hotels?
A: Before you place a booking all prices we advertise are accurate at the date of published, but we reserve the right to change any of those prices from time to time in accordance with the change of itinerary and services. The Prices can go up or down. You will be able to find and see the updated price of your chosen tours before submitting your booking.
After you receive the confirmation letter, any increase of the hotel rate will be absorbed by ChinaTravelDepot of supplying your hotel rooms resulting from rate increase, currency fluctuations. If any change in our costs would cause a reduction in your hotel price, we will not make any refunds.
We will remind you by e-mail about full payment in order to secure your reservation. We strongly recommend you complete the full payment as early as possible so that we can arrange your hotel smoothly and nicely.
No Deposit- We do not charge any deposit for reservation, we stock everything for your interests.
Full Payment: Your punctual full payment is strictly required to secure your reservation.
For reservation more than 10 days prior to your hotel check-in date in China:
Full payment must be completed at least 10 days prior to your hotel check-in date in China. Otherwise we will cancel your reservation automatically by e-mail.
For reservation more than 24 hours to 10 days prior to your hotel check-in date in China:
Full payment must be completed within 12 hours after your reservation is confirmed. Otherwise we will cancel your reservation automatically with e-mail notice.
For reservation within 24 hours prior to your hotel check-in date in China:
Full payment must be completed instantly or by the time as specified in the e-mail after your reservation is confirmed. Otherwise we will cancel your reservation automatically by e-mail.
Online payment through PayPal:
We strongly recommend online payment through PayPal which is safer, easier, faster and free for you ! You can use Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and discover to fund your PayPal payments. Plus, when you pay with PayPal, you do not expose your credit card number to us. Online payment is the best way to ensure that you pay us and we get paid instantly.
Once you send the full payment you should inform us by e-mail or fax about the payment details, which will help us to check the payment due and secure your reservation and block the hotel room for your benefit and interest.
There are three other payment solutions if you have to use:
***Wire Transfer (bank transfer): subject to bank service charge and it may take more than 14 days to get your payment.
***Visa/MasterCard/American Express credit card payment authorization by fax: subject to 4% service charge and it may take more than 14 days to get your payment.
***Cash either we come to your address in China or you come to our offices. We do not accept personal checks.
Once you send the full payment you should inform us by e-mail about the payment details, which will help us to check the payment due and secure your reservation for your benefit and interest. If we do not receive the full payment as we expected or we have reasons to believe that your payment is delayed and fraudulent, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation and the cancellation letter will be sent to you by e-mail properly. We are not responsible for any loss or inconvenience to you if you fail to access and view the cancellation letter. You can always check your reservation status at your account on China Travel Depot.
Should you instruct your credit/debit card company to "charge back" any payment(s) properly due from you in respect of your booking, we will charge you an administrative fee of USD20 per incident and associated costs. We further reserve the right to cancel your booking and/or our office in Canada takes legal action against you for all outstanding payment(s).
Q6: What is check-in time for hotels in China?
A: Usually the check-in time is after 14:00, and the hotels do not guarantee any early check in depending on room availability. In this case if you arrive in a city in the morning you should try to take a city tour first when the hotel room is not ready. Guaranteed early check-in will cost you extra for one night accommodation.
Q7: What is check-out time for hotels in China?
A: Usually the check-out time is before 12:00, and the hotels do not guarantee any late check out depending on room availability and booking situation. Check-out after 14:00 will bring about half day rooms cost, and check-out after 18:00 will cost full day room cost.
Cancellation and Refund

For normal hotel bookings, ChinaTravelDepot.com should receive cancellation or change request(s) from you at least 24 hours in advance.
For Guaranteed bookings, no fee will be charged If cancelled up to 3 days before date of arrival; the first night will be charged If cancelled later or in case of no-show; The policies for bookings during major events may be more strict (I.E. major holidays, big fairs and convention...etc), but you will be informed in advance.
Q9: What are the cancellation & change policies for prepaid hotel bookings?
For prepaid bookings (I.E: special offer), there would be no cancellation fee if cancellation made more than 30 days in advance; and 50% of the full payment will be charged if between 30-20 days; 100% of the full payment will be charged if less than 20 days.
ChinaTravelDepot has the final explanation right for specific prepayment hotel bookings, and customers will be informed in advance.
Q10: What is the Children & Extra bed Policies for ChinaTravelDepot Hotel Bookings?
All children are free of charge when using existing bedding and the cost for extra bed need to be paid additionally and separately if there is a need. Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel since not all hotel rooms can hold extra bed.
Q11: Why did you cancel the hotels I have booked?
A: We aim to provide your hotels as booked. But we reserve the right to cancel your reservation if we have reasons to believe that your payment condition, health conditions may affect us to carry out the hotel arrangements. We will remind you automatically and continuously about the payment status for the reserved hotel(s) by e-mails or fax. We are not responsible for any inconvenience or loss caused by the cancellation.
If we cancel your reservation after receipt of your full payment, we will refund full payment received by China Travel Depot within 7 days.
Please kindly understand that your co-operation for punctual payment will not only protect your reservation and ticket, but help us to serve you and more people efficiently and smoothly.
Q12: Why did you change the hotels I have booked?
A: We hope that we will not have to make any changes to your hotels, but we sometimes do need to make changes based on the local situation. We reserve the right to modify the hotel you stay if room availability changes, and/or events beyond our control make such alterations necessary.
If you have already booked with confirmation letter from us, we will let you know as soon as possible. We may offer you hotel alternatives in the same or higher standard if the original hotel is not available. You can accept or refuse the alternative so that we can keep or cancel your reservation accordingly.
Important note-events beyond our control
Events beyond our control include: war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, epidemics, health risks, technical problems with transport including changes due to rescheduling or cancellation of flights by an airline or alteration of the airline or aircraft type for reasons beyond our control or that of our suppliers; closed or congested airports or ports, hurricanes and other actual or potential severe weather conditions, and any other similar events.
