Overall Satisfaction:
"nice guide, enjoyable tour"
We eventually got to the high portion of the Mutianyu Great Wall. Given the hoards of people at all of the other sites we visited in Beijing, the solitude we found on this part of the wall was much appreciated. The Ming tombs were a nice place to know and visit. You can see how Chinese honor their ancient rulers. Our guide Susan was excellent and provided us not only with information about the sites we were visiting, but also about life in China in general. Susan’s English was very good which made it easy to visit with her. We liked her easy going manner.

Overall Satisfaction:
"pretty interesting tour"
I think the Ming tombs were pretty interesting at least to me. Perhaps our guide was very good in explaining the history and story behind the Emperor’s tomb. It’s very cooling underground and amazing to see how deep the “underground palace” was dug and built during the ancient days. In the afternoon, we headed for Mutianyu. We walked far enough to get to the part of the wall that hasn’t been restored. At that part of the wall, we were virtually the only people there. A totally different experience.

Overall Satisfaction:
"good"
The tour was unforgettable. The weather was perfect with sunshine and breeze. The trees in the forest were flowering. We spent probably two hours walking on the wall. We took the cable car up to the higher portion. This is one of my favorite views of the Great Wall. I have seen it in many seasons from snow to total green. Food & service has been impressive. Joanna is very organised and has a good sense of responsibility. She went out of her way to help us.
