Shanghai Museum (new location) is situated at Shanghai center, People’s Square. Eponymous with Beijing Museum, Nanjing Museum and Xian Museum Shanghai Museum is called one of the four biggest museums of China. There are 12 theme display rooms with more than 120 thousand cultural relics, including bronze work, pottery, calligraphy, porcelain, paintings, oracle bone and lacquer. Among them bronze work, pottery, porcelain are the most famous culture relics. Every year there are several theme displays on, for instance Ming and Qing dynasty calligraphy and Dunhuang Art. Also museum gets frequent exchange and communication with more than 20 foreign countries. Shanghai Museum covers 39200 m2 with a height of 29.5m. Its unique visual effect lies on its special shape which indicates hemispherical dome cosmology. The whole building reflects traditional culture as well spirit of time.
