Hohhot is the political, economic and cultural center of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is also the national distribution center of a variety of property of the Autonomous Region as well as arts and crafts. You can buy not only a specialty of horse milk in Hohhot, but also the snuff bottle called Huhuer and pure knitting wool. You can also buy the local products, such as mushroom, fungus, sunflower seeds, camel hair, fennel, licorice, astragalus and so on. Some ethnic handicrafts, Mongolian boots, Mongolia knife, Mongolian silverware, Mongolian corner carving and the Duolun nationality saddle may also draw your attention.
There are many shopping malls in Hohhot, such as Xinlin arcade at south side of the railway station, New Century shopping mall on West Street in new city, Mandula shopping Building on Tadong Street and Tianyuan Commercial Center on Zhongshan West road, where you can buy some famous products of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
