Harbin is a fantastic city with its ice and snow sculpture in winter seasons. Besides, the city displays a mixed flavor of east and west. Therefore, it attracts crowds of visitors every winter. To satisfy the needs of accommodation, Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province, are equipped with sufficient hotels of varied levels. Now let me roughly divide them into three areas and introduce one by one.
|
Let’s start with the business and financial area in the northwest of the city, near the railway station and bus stations. There are many hotels in this area such as Shangri-La Hotel and Kunlun Hotel. First it’s very convenient for visitors living here to go to the scenic spots (Harbin’s scenic spots are mostly located along or in the north of Songhua River). Second, the Central Avenue, the broadest and longest avenue in Asia, is located in the area. The avenue has western-style buildings and many shopping malls, and it’s extremely beautiful and alive in the evening, so visitors living nearby can really have fun in this avenue. Saint Sophia Cathedral, the largest Orthodox Church in the Far East, is also located in this area. This area is probably the best choice for visitors.
Visitors can also choose to live in the cultural and educational center in the southwest of Harbin where many universities and colleges are located. This area is relatively near the airport. Besides, there are some Russian-style buildings.
Another alternative is the High-tech Development Zone in the east part of the city. This area has many hotels of different levels. The civil aviation shuttles starts service just at the Civil Aviation Hotel. However, this area is farther than the previous two areas from the scenic spots and the airport.
