There are a great many hotels in Fenghuang Ancient Town, with their prices ranging from less than one hundred yuan to several hundred yuan per night. Hotel accommodations in Fenghuang mainly consist of two types: hotels and family inns.
The best hotel in the Ancient Town is four-star Phoenix Grand Hotel. Living in a family inn has a different feeling. Room decoration of local characteristics and closeness to the daily life of local residents—all makes you better understand minority culture. A room right near the river would provide you beautiful view. You just fully relax yourself at night after a day’s sightseeing. Family inns usually do not provide slippers, towels, or soaps. You’d better take them yourself if you decide to live in family inns.
During the Golden Week, tourists are much more than usual, so you have to book in advance and the price is more expensive than usual. Don’t expect to find a place to live in as soon as you arrive in the town during the Golden Week. In most cases, you will spend the night in internet bars or tea houses. Or you live in a hotel room at sky-high price (more than 500 yuan per night).
