Day 01Beijing

Destinations: Arrive in Beijing

Arrive in Beijing, your visa-free period timed from 00:00am the day following your arrival.

Day 02Beijing

Pick up from your hotel in Beijing and first visit the Temple of Heaven (1.5 hours visit), the place where the Emperors prayed for peace and harvest. It is located in the southern part of Beijing, and had been one of the most holy places for the whole country for more than five centuries. It was used as a complex of sacrificial buildings for the Ming and Qing emperors.

After lunch, continue to visit the Summer Palace (2 hours sightseeing), one of China's largest imperial gardens. Summer Palace was originally a royal garden and a temporary dwelling palace for emperors of Qing Dynasty. Its predecessor was the Garden of Clear Ripples (Qingyiyuan) started in 1750 and burned down by the British and French allied troops in 1860.

Day 03Beijing

Pick up from your hotel in Beijing in the morning and first visit Tiananmen Square (40minutes sightseeing), the largest city square of such kind in the world. Tiananmen Square is the heart and symbol of China. The square can hold about one million people for public celebration or gatherings.
Then move on to Forbidden City ( 2 hours visit ), also known as the Imperial Palace Museum. The Forbidden City was the seat of Imperial power for 500 years, and is now a major tourist attraction in China. Exit from the northern gate of Forbidden City, move on to Jingshan Park (40minutes sightseeing ) to have an eye-bird's view of this magnificent complex of Forbidden City. Jingshan Park is full of community activities, especially on Sundays. Visit the place where the last Ming Dynasty Emperor Chongzhen hanged himself.
 
 
After lunch, move on to Back Lakes (Shichahai Area) (1.5hours sightseeing) behind Beihai Park for Hutong tour. First walk along Houhai Bar Street and then take rickshaw going around the deep Hutong in Shichahai area, visiting an ordinary family in a courtyard.  
 

 

 

 

 

If you join in the departure on Jan26, this day (day2) is the Chinese New Year’ Eve, a most important family gathering time to celebrate the end of a year and also welcome a new year dawn. You will be invited to join in our celebration.

Day 04Beijing

Destinations: Beijing

Today is the 1st day of another Chinese New Year of Snake. Chinese has the tradition to climb up to higher place to begin with a good view for a fresh year to come. Thus, there is no better day for us to climb the Great Wall, a high and long man-made miracle project of China lying in northern east of Beijing.
 
After breakfast at your hotel, have an excursion to the Mutianyu Great Wall (2 hours hiking ). The Mutianyu section of Great Wall is located in Huairou district, about 80 km north from downtown Beijing. The Mutianyu Great Wall is less crowded than Badaling Great Wall with picturesque views. Mutianyu Great Wall once worked as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs. It is a green section of the great wall in Beijing with vegetation, green trees covering 90 per cent of the section.

Day 05Beijing, Xi'an

Pick up from your hotel in Beijing around 6:00am and take early morning high-speed train (second class seating) starting from Beijing West Railway Station for Xi'an. Arriving at Xi'an North Railway Station at noon, met and transferred to a local restaurant for Chinese lunch.

Afternoon you will visit the Terracotta Warriors - a lifetime viewing of the extraordinary 2200-year-old terracotta Army of China's First Emperor-Qin Shihuang. The emperor Qin Shihuang who was the first emperor to unite China in 221 BC started to build his own mausoleum 35 years before his death.
After having the local flavor dinner - Dumpling Dinner, enjoy Tang Dynasty Show in the evening. The Tang Dynasty Show showcases the costumes, music, and dancing of China's golden age in: the Tang dynasty (618 - 907). The show begins with an ancient Chinese musical instrument ensemble while you dine and then later the cultural dance segment begins. he costumes are splendid and you can get some really nice photos if you sit near the stage. Dumpling, or Jiaozi in Chinese, is one of the most representative Chinese food. The food can be dated back two thousands’ years ago.

Day 06Xi'an

Destinations: Xi’an

Activities:

After breakfast at hotel, your city tour begins with a visit to Big Goose Pagoda ( Ascending the pagoda is optional). The Pagoda is over 1000 years old and has 6 levels. It was used to store and protect Buddhist writings in the past. The Big Goose Pagoda is situated in the Da Ci'en Temple, four kilometers south away from the center of the city.

 

After lunch, visit the Xi'an City Wall, a symbol of great significance of the famous historic cultural city of Xian. The City Wall started to be built in 194 B.C. The wall is 25.7 KM in length and is 12-16 meters in the base. Bicycles can be rented to ride. The wall encloses a city area of 36 square kilometers. Transferred back to your hotel.

Day 07Xi'an, Chengdu

Destinations: Xi'an-Chengdu

Activities:

Pick up from your hotel in Xi'an around 7:30am and take morning high-speed train (second class seating) starting from Xi'an North Railway Station for Chengdu. Our guide will meet you at Chengdu airport upon arrival and help you to check in at the hotel. After check-in, head out with your guide for a stroll along Kuanzhai Xiangzi (Broad and Narrow Alleys) Walk Street. Evening specially with a hotpot dinner followed by face changing opera.

Day 08Chengdu

Destinations: Chengdu

Activities:

 

An exciting day comes as you visit Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. You will have enough time there to observe the cute creatures.
 
In the afternoon, visit Jinsha Site Museum. After that our guide will escort you to the most popular Renmin Park to experience the casual life of the local people. Have a pot of tea and live like a local.

Day 09Chengdu, Shanghai

Destinations: Chengdu to Shanghai

Fly to Shanghai this morning. Met and transferred to a local restaurant for Chinese lunch upon arrival. After Chinese lunch, continue to visit the new development zone in Pudong - Lujiazui, which is teeming with the futuristic, avant-garde buildings - Shanghai Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Building, Bank of China Tower. Taking the elevator to the 88-storey Observation Deck of Jinmao Tower where you will have a spectacular view of the whole city. Then move on to the Bund, one of the most noted waterfront and architectural symbols of Shanghai. The Bund is lined with about 50 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance. Standing on the Bund, you will have a spine-tingling view of the Pudong Skyline. Evening is free for you to explore the city night.

Day 10Shanghai

Today’s highlight is Yu Yuan Garden. Yuyuan is a famous garden in Shanghai where you will see how a large beautiful garden was made by a rich rice merchant 400 years ago. Adjoining these gardens is an old shopping area, the old city of Shanghai with narrow streets and buildings that were of a typically old Chinese style. There are many small streets and lanes where vendors sell their products and food stuffs to the tourists and local people.
After lunch, you are arranged to immerse yourself into the dazzling trendy life in "Xintiandi". Xintiandi is situated at Lane No.181 of Taicang Road Shanghai. It occupies an area of about 30,000 square meters. It was a former old Shikumen which has been given restoration. Now it serves as book stores, cafes and restaurants, and shopping malls.

Day 11Shanghai

Destinations: Depart from Shanghai

Before 24:00pm, exit From Shanghai to a third country or extend your trip to Hong Kong special administrative region (HK SAR).
