Day 01Beijing

Destinations: Arrive in Beijing

Activities:

You'll be met on arrival at Beijing airport. Free time rest of the day exploring the nearby streets, or resting and catching up on your jetlag. Beijing is a city of amazing contrasts – an ancient capital with incredible historical sites, and a bustling modern metropolis which hosted the 2008 Olympics and 2022 Winter Olympics.

Day 02Beijing

Destinations: Beijing

Activities:

 

After breakfast head out for the Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest public square, the symbol of Beijing as well as China. Then go straight ahead to the Forbidden City, royal court and home of emperors from Ming and Qing dynasties over 500 years. Later you'll visit the Temple of Heaven, where the Emperors prayed for good harvests and worshipped God of Heaven. 
After dinner, you will enjoy acrobatic show.

Day 03Beijing

Destinations: Beijing

Activities:

After breakfast, we will leave for the Great Wall at Badaling. The Great Wall stretches for over 6000 km and was originally built to protect China from the barbarians. You can walk and climb at your own pace.
In the afternoon, you will have a chance to view exterior view of the Olympic venues. The Beijing Olympic Park and Olympic village have been opened to public from October, 2008. You may stop and take some photos and have a glimpse of the Olympic stadiums, such as the Bird's Nest - National Stadium, the Water Cube - National Aquatics Center and the Ice ribbon- National Speed Skating Oval.

Day 04Beijing, Datong

Destinations: Beijing to Datong

Activities:

 

After breakfast, You will transfer to the railway station to Datong which is one of the oldest cities in China. Take the high speed train to Datong. After lunch visit the Yungang Grottoes which were began in the year 460, and there are now 45 grottoes housing over 51,000 Buddhist statues. It is one of the biggest ancient grottoes in China and a real art treasury for Buddhism. A golf cart will be available so that you do not need to walk the long distances between the grottoes, and will have more time to see the statues.

Day 05Datong, Taiyuan

Destinations: Datong to Taiyuan

Activities:

After breakfast, you will drive to the the Hanging Temple, which is the only temple in China that combines Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. Built on a cliff, the Hanging Temple is listed as one of the "world's top ten most odd and dangerous buildings".

 

The Yingxian Wooden Pagoda is the oldest and tallest surviving wooden structure in China.

In the late afternoon, you will drive to Taiyuan, the provincial capital city and spend a night there. Have a good rest and prepare to enjoy the breathtaking ancient culture the next day.

Day 06Taiyuan

Destinations: Taiyuan

Activities:

 

You will start the tour from Taiyuan, visit the Jinci Temple, which is the earliest Royal Ancestral Temple Garden building complex in China, and then visit the Shanxi Museum - an encyclopedia of the history and culture of Shanxi Province.

Day 07Taiyuan, Xi'an

Destinations: Taiyuan to Xi’an

Activities:

 

After breakfast, your tour guide and driver will escort you to the train station, and you will take the bullet train to Xi'an. Xi'an was the national capital for over 1,000 years and was also the starting point of the Silk Road. On arrival we will take a half-hour's hike along the Ancient City Wall to familiarize ourselves with this fascinating cross cultural city. For the energetic we recommend a ride bike along the top of the wall (Bikes can be rented for around 20 yuan/hour). Then visit one of the best museums in China, the Shaanxi Historical Museum. Among the 400,000 items on display are treasures from many of the dynasties in history, including some magnificent bronzes and porcelain, many of which have never been on permanent display before.

Day 08Xi'an

Destinations: Xi‘a(chǎn)n

Activities:

After breakfast in the hotel, you will set off for the incredible 2000-year-old Terracotta Warriors and Horses. The Warriors are part of the underground tomb of the Emperor Qin. Well over 7,000 figures in full battle array are formed for battle in several large pits. Many of the figures - soldiers, archers, horses and chariots have been restored. In the afternoon we’re going to the Bell Tower where you can get a bird’s view of the city from the top. There is a music performance of the ancient music and a display of the instruments. We will continue to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his collection of classic Buddhist artifacts brought from India.

Day 09Xi'an

Destinations: Depart from Xi'an

Activities:

Free in the day until our local guide escorts you to the airport for your onward flight to your next destination.
