Kashgar Transportation
There are several types of choices for you to enter and leave Kashgar.
By Air
Air China, China Eastern Airline and China Southern Airline all offer flights to Kashgar from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Urumqi. Local airlineslike Hainan airline and Shandong Airline run flights to Kashgar, too. It is the most convenient way to travel there because it is almost the west of China.
Seasonal flights run by China Southern Airline to Islamabad are scheduled twice a week.
By Train
The station of Kashgar marks the end of the Southern Xinjiang Railway. Kashgar is connected to the rest of Xinjiang autonomous region and the rest of China. It takes about 12 hours travelling from Kashgar to Urumqi by train so it is very time-consuming though economical.
By Highway
The Karakorum highway (KKH) links Islamabad, Pakistan with Kashgar. Kyrgyzstan is also accessible from Kashgar. Since summer 2007, daily bus service connects Kashgar with Bishkek’s Western Bus Terminal. Kashgar is also located on China National Highways G314 and G315.
