As an important component of Shandong Cuisine, Qufu food finds Kong (Confucius family name) Family Feast its highest expression. In the past, the feast with its finest ingredients was either intended for the emperors or distinguished guest celebrating birthdays or weddings. But now tourists can have a try in any big restaurants in Qufu. Kong Family Feast is characterized by such cooking techniques as frying, braising and steaming. Famous courses available now include Shengxian duck (immortal duck) , sea cucumber and Yipin bean curd and Confucius red pork stew.

Snacks are an important element of Qufu cuisines. Among the most famous are the Qufu pancake; sanzi (fried dough twist) and smoked tofu. Smoked Tofu is the very delicious traditional snack of Qufu. Tourists who want to tantalize their taste buds can delight their mouth and stomach in various stalls and small restaurants along Wumaci street, Zhonglou street and Gulou street.
