When talking about Dunhuang, the Singing Sand Hill and Crescent Lake can't be missed.

The Tour starts from 8:30 AM and lasts about 3-4 hours.
Singing Sand Hill is about 40 kilometers long from east to west, 20 kilometers wide from south to north; the hill is accumulated with quicksand, and the highest altitude is 1,715 meters. The whole hill is accumulated with sands which have five colors, including red, yellow, blue, white and black, so the sands are called as five-color sands.
Surrounded by the Singing Sand Hill, there is a spring like a crescent called as the Crescent Moon Lake. The Crescent Moon Lake lies in the embrace of the Singing Sand Hill for thousands of years, although it is often attacked by strong wind and sand, it still ripples green waves, with bubbling flowing water, so it deserves the reputation as the first lake in the desert.
