Day 04Lhasa

Destinations: Lhasa

Activities: After breakfast our guide will transfer you to Yambajan and Lake Namtso . Yambajan is famous for its hot spring and is a nice choice for those who want to get a close look at the Tibetan herders (drokpa) and their semi-nomadic lifestyle. Covering an area of about 150,000 square meters, Yambajan, 87 kilometers away from Lhasa, is situated in the basin at the foot of Nyainqentanglha Mountains to the northwest of Lhasa. Lake Namtso is the second largest saltwater lake in China. The lake is beautiful with its azure water and surrounding snow capped peaks. There is a gravel road from Damxung to the lake. In the rainy season, the route can be quite difficult.

As a foreigner I felt so excited I went to Tibet, the highland where so to the highest peak in the world. I didn’t get any uncomfortable as many had, called mountain sickness and I enjoyed my trip so much. I would like to thanks you for your arrangement, I know its not easy to find somewhere comfortable in the mountain area, but where I stay all provide shower and independent toilet. Good.

Overall Satisfaction:
"Great place"
Although the transport all over was too long and tired, I did enjoy my trip in Tibet very much. Compare to travel to some big cities like Xian and Beijing, Tibet didn’t have good hotels or meals, what you could enjoy is its great scenery and original life style. Very very good experience.

Question

Asked by Ms.Eva Ko (Canada)

getting a quotation
Hello, We’re a group of international students currently in Beijing rush planning a trip to Tibet, and would like to receive a quote for your 5 Days Tibet Tour as quickly as convenient (within 24 hours if possible); we’re looking to make a decision and a reservation by the end of the week at the latest. We are currently a group of four looking to go flexibly between the night of April 24th to the night of May 5th. We are interested in taking the train in order to reduce costs, but taking the train one way and a flight back would also be possible depending on cost. Do you have an estimate on airplane ticket prices if we were to book flights through you? Our group consists of one Canadian, one German, and two South Koreans – would the make up of our group allow us to qualify for Tibet Permits? We would be open to combining with another group/individuals in order to meet any minimum travelers requirements. We realize this is quite a last minute request, and appreciate any help you can provide. Please feel free to email me back if you need more information from me or would like to chat.
