Day 01Beijing

Destinations: Arrive in Beijing

Activities:

You'll be met on arrival at Beijing airport. Free time rest of the day exploring the nearby streets, or resting and catching up on your jetlag. Beijing is a city of amazing contrasts – an ancient capital with incredible historical sites, and a bustling modern metropolis which hosted the 2008 Olympics and 2022 Winter Olympics.

Day 02Beijing

Destinations: Beijing

Activities:

 

After breakfast head out for the Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest public square, the symbol of Beijing as well as China. Then go straight ahead to the Forbidden City, royal court and home of emperors from Ming and Qing dynasties over 500 years. Later you'll visit the Temple of Heaven, where the Emperors prayed for good harvests and worshipped God of Heaven. 
After dinner, you will enjoy acrobatic show.

Day 03Beijing

Destinations: Beijing

Activities:

After breakfast, we will leave for the Great Wall at Badaling. The Great Wall stretches for over 6000 km and was originally built to protect China from the barbarians. You can walk and climb at your own pace.
In the afternoon, you will have a chance to view exterior view of the Olympic venues. The Beijing Olympic Park and Olympic village have been opened to public from October, 2008. You may stop and take some photos and have a glimpse of the Olympic stadiums, such as the Bird's Nest - National Stadium, the Water Cube - National Aquatics Center and the Ice ribbon- National Speed Skating Oval.

Day 04Beijing, Chengdu

Destinations: Beijing to Chengdu

Activities:

Pick up from your hotel around 7:30am and take morning flight to Chengdu. Our guide will meet you at Chengdu airport upon arrival and help you to check in at the hotel. After check-in, head out with your guide for a stroll along Kuanzhai Xiangzi (Broad and Narrow Alleys) Pedestrian Street. Evening specially with a hotpot dinner followed by face changing opera.

Day 05Chengdu

Destinations: Chengdu

An exciting day comes as you visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. You will have enough time there to observe the cute creatures.

In the afternoon, visit the Sanxingdui Museum. After that our guide will escort you to the most popular Renmin Park to experience the casual life of the local people. Have a pot of tea and live like a local.

Day 06Chengdu, Emeishan

Destinations: Chengdu-Leshan-Emei

In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel, then be drive about 2 hours from Chengdu to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Leshan Giant Buddha which is the largest and tallest stone-carved statue of Buddha in the world. It was carved during 713~803 AD on a mountain rock cliff by the river, with its head reaching to the mountain top and its feet standing next to the river.
After the Giant Buddha visit, drive about 45mins to Baoguo Temple, the biggest temple of Mount Emei at the mountain foot. It has several serene gardens with rare plants, a library of sutras and a huge porcelain Buddha. Another famous historical relic in the temple is the 25-ton bronze bell, reputedly as the second largest bell in China. While traveling deeper into the temple, you will enjoy different views of Mount Emei.

Day 07Emeishan, Chongqing

This morning after breakfast, meet your tour guide and set out for Mount Emei. As one of the few mixed World Heritage sites of both cultural and natural values, Mount Emei is an enchanted combination of lush forest and cultural relics. It is one of the Four Great Buddhist Mountains in China, also the home to 5000 kinds of plants (more than the total species in Europe) and over 2300 kinds of wild animals.

 You will first take your private car to the tourist center, then shift on to an Eco-Bus which will take you up to the mountain top area in 1.5~2 hours. Once you reaching at Leidongping (2400m), keep on walking about 30mins along stone steps to the cable car station, along which you will have a chance to see the wild monkeys. Take a cable car (about 5mins) up to the Golden Summit (3077m) which is the biggest highlight and very essence of Mount Emei. Once you get to the Golden Summit, the first view appearing in front of you is a towering multi-faced golden statue (48m) of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Next to the golden statue sits the bronze Huazang Temple which is the first temple established on Mount Emei whose history can be traced back to the 1st century CE. You can stroll around the Golden Summit to explore Buddhist architecture and tradition, and enjoy a panoramic view of Mount Emei and surrounding area. On clear days, you can even see the snow-clad of Mount Gongga (7556m), Asia’s largest table mountain - Wawu Mountain and winding rivers flowing through Emeishan city. If weather permits, you will have luck to enjoy its magnificent wonder of Cloud Sea. Sightsee around 1.5 hours on the Golden Summit area, then descend by cable car to Leidoping and take Eco-Bus again back to the tourist center. Your private car is ready to transfer you to Emei railway station and take the train to Chongqing

Day 08Chongqing

Destinations: Chongqing

Activities:

Today we will take you to Dazu County by a comfortable private transfer in around 2 hours. It is the birthplace of the amazing Dazu Rock Carvings which were created from the late Tang Dynasty (618~907) to the early Song Dynasty (960~1127). With the theme of Buddhism, Dazu cliffside carvings are distributed in Beishan, Baodingshan, Nanshan, Shimenshan and Shizhuanshan.

You will spend the day visiting Baodingshan Carvings located about 527 meters above sea level. It mainly consists of the Dafowan Rock Carvings Area and Xiaofowan Rock Carvings Area. There are about 10,000 statues of Buddha carved on the 500-meter cliff in the U-shape Dafowan. It is said to be a long narrative mural with plenty of commentary but no repeated content. If interested, you could walk to the nearby shopping street where imitated statues and other handicrafts are sold. While the tour ends, we will drive you back to Chongqing and you can enjoy the rest of the day on your own.

Free in the day until our local guide escorts you to the airport for your onward flight to your next destination.
