The Palace Museum Office announced on the 18^th Nov that from January 1 2014, the Palace Museum will close every Monday with the exception of legal holidays and summer vacation (July 1 to August 31).

Since January 2013, the Palace Museum closed every Monday afternoon. During this time, the pressure of audience reception reduced. So The Palace Museum had its own time to arrange the work, which played a positive role especially for restoration of ancient buildings, collections protection and visitor service.

The “Close on Monday” activity helps to maintain the possession of relics of ancient buildings and it also gives Palace Museum some space to improve their service and environment. The Palace Museum sincerely hopes that the majority of audience could give him kind understanding and support.
